ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
Automobile Engineering is a branch of mechanical engineering that deals with the automobile industry and focuses on the structure, maintenance, design, and functioning of all types of automobiles.

To work in this specialization, professionals require skills in installation, maintenance, and problems associated with automobiles, and their devices and equipment.

Automobile engineering is gaining huge popularity as an academic domain since with increasing aspirations for a comfortable living there is a huge demand among people for acquiring automobiles. The Diploma in Automobile Engineering is a three-year programme offered by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, which is among the best colleges for polytechnic in UP. It trains the students in designing, testing, and understanding the components and functioning of automobiles, in automobile testing, transmission, suspension and braking systems, comfort and safety and automobile management. The subjects included in this programme are Fundamentals of Mechanics, Physics, Fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Drawing, Fundamentals of Computers, Material Science and Engineering, Manufacturing Process, Foundry, Forming and Wielding Processes, Thermal Engineering. Machine Design, and Automobile Technology.

Students are involved in extensive lab and workshop activities such as measurement methodology, modern manufacturing process, metal cutting, fluid machinery, automobile design, metrology, and material science and engineering. Projects based on automobile designing as well as new automobile types and structures are encouraged. Furthermore, students make models of technology-enabled automobile designs during their science competitions and science fests. Industry visits to automobile maintenance companies, and invited talks by the industry professionals complete the programme. The students emerge as job ready professionals with expertise in automotive testing and diagnostics, production technology and computer aided design.

Passed 10+2 board exams or its equivalent with Mathematics as a compulsory subject.
