Objective: The key objective of this FDP is to present and assess rapid changes of modern world, which have caused the Higher Education System to face variety of challenges. Therefore, training more eager, thoughtful individuals in interdisciplinary fields is required. Thus, research and exploration to figure out useful and effective teaching and learning methods are one of the most important necessities of educational systems.

The Department of Applied Science and Humanities Invertis University organized a Faculty Development Programme on Effective Teaching at college level for our faculty members on 22 August, 2015

The resource person was Prof S. K. Awasthi, Professor in University of Delhi , Delhi This programme was organized by Head of Department , Dr. Shalabh Saxena, Assistant Professor, Invertis University. Rapid changes of modern world have caused the Higher Education System to face a great variety of challenges. Therefore, training more eager, thoughtful individuals in interdisciplinary fields is required. Thus, research and exploration to figure out useful and effective teaching and learning methods are one of the most important necessities of educational systems. Prof S. K. Awasthi focused on the effective teaching. He said that a good teaching method helps the students to question their preconceptions, and motivates them to learn, by putting them in a situation in which they come to see themselves as the authors of answers, as the agents of responsibility for change.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Jagdish Prasad Rai, Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. YDS Arya and Dean Applied Science & Engineering Prof. R.K. Shukla has appreciated the content of the FDP and ask the organiser to organise such FDP’s in future. The head of the department Dr. Shalabh Saxena mentioned that through this lecture faculties will learn a lot about the effective teaching skills and designed with a significant understanding of the local and global academic scenario and its functions one step ahead, for this purpose the system needs a technically skilled team to impose standardised.
