6th Intra Departmental Moot Court Competition
The 6th Intra Departmental Moot Court Competition was held on 19-20 October 2022 in the Department of Law. The event was organized by the Moot Court Committee of the department, and it aimed to provide a platform for law students to showcase their advocacy skills and legal knowledge. The competition witnessed participation from students across all years of the undergraduate law program. The event commenced with an opening ceremony, which was graced by the presence of the Dean of Law, Head of the Department, faculty members, and the students. The competition comprised of four rounds, which included two preliminary rounds, semi-finals, and the finals.
The participants were judged on various parameters such as clarity of thought, legal reasoning, research skills, and presentation skills. The semi-finals witnessed intense arguments between the teams, and the judges had a tough time deciding the finalists. Finally, two teams made it to the finals, where they presented their arguments before a packed audience. The finals were a nail-biting affair, with both teams presenting compelling arguments. However, one team emerged as the winner, and they were awarded the coveted trophy amidst thunderous applause from the audience. The event concluded with a valedictory function, where the winners were felicitated, and certificates were distributed to all participants. The competition was a resounding success, and it provided an excellent opportunity for law students to hone their advocacy skills and gain practical exposure to legal proceedings.
